Juan Armando Martinez is a serial entrepreneur, seasoned executive and visionary marketing strategist. He is founder and CEO of Yellow Cheetah, a unique, all-in-one race management solution for athletic events. He began producing athletic events in 2010, including the FIVE55 Series, the Irving Marathon Relay and the Austin Jingle Bell 5k.

From 2009 to 2011, Martinez served as VP of business development for RCR Wireless, an industry-leading magazine, and served as a consultant to companies in the mobile industry. In 2004 he founded a NSIDE, high-end regional business magazine showcasing local entrepreneurs, and served as publisher through its expansion to San Antonio in 2008. In 2001 he founded N2View Business Strategies, a boutique graphic design and development firm. Prior to that he was director of sales for start-up Connect South and worked in sales management position at MCI Communications.

Martinez received his B.B.A. from St. Edward’s University in Austin, having been recruited from his home of Caracas, Venezuela on a baseball scholarship. He currently lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and their two young daughters. An avid runner and polo player, Martinez is always looking for the next challenge to tackle.

Víctor Rodríguez, SENIOR DEVELOPER

Victor is Yellow Cheetah’s technical “wizard behind the curtain” and manages all aspects of platform development, quality assurance, and development of all the new features and functions to YC.


Chelsea Harris’s ten-year design career boasts varied and impressive experience. After growing up in the Austin area, Chelsea got her design career started in 2004 in Dallas, Texas. Her first job was in the fashion realm at Neiman Marcus, where she created designs for a jean line. She then moved on to work as an assistant buyer for Dallas stores and spent a year traveling between Las Vegas, New York and Los Angeles.

As a Creative Director she leads all YC’s graphic design, branding, website design and business services initiatives. She takes pride in her ability to customize projects and work closely with our clients to meet their needs. Notably, she has worked with many projects in the Austin area, including “Cowparade, 2012, Austin featuring Jay Leno,” “Superhero Kids,” “Formula Run 2013,” “Bad Gives Back,” and “Fashion Week South” and now she has joined our team and she is amazing at what she does.

Chelsea is also a self-proclaimed pizza enthusiast and, in her free time, enjoys watching movies on Netflix and taking long walks in the park.


Pierce is a fellow St. Edward's Business School alum who began working as an intern with Yellow Cheetah almost at the ground floor while still attending school. After graduating with a Digital Media Management degree, Pierce came on full-time with the company handling everything from search engine optimization to personally acting as race director for various events on occasion. However, his primary responsibilities revolve around the social media and marketing aspects of the company; there's a good chance that he's the one speaking if you're hearing from us.

Evan Phelps, SALES

Evan is the newest member of Yellow Cheetah's team and will be helping get this great product into more race director's hands across the country. Originally from New England, Evan attended Colby College where he played lacrosse and Majored in International Studies. In 2009 he left the concrete jungle of Manhattan to come to Austin and has been an honorable Texan ever since. Evan is an entrepreneur with a passion for life and enjoys running, cooking and going camping with his beautiful wife and Basset-Beagle Bailey.
