Description
Sprint Triathlon: 300 yard pool swim – 13 mile bike – 3.6 mile run

Course Notes:

The swim will be in a 25 yard indoor pool.

The bike course is one loop on country roads as well as newly paved roads.

The run course starts at McKinney High School continuing through old McKinney, the downtown square and ends at the high school.

Aid stations will be located approximately every 1 mile. Each aid station is equipped with water and Powerade.

The course officially closes at 11am for all participants. All participants must observe all cut-off times and USAT rules and regulations. Failure to meet cut-off times will result in disqualification and removal from the course.

This Triathlon Group Training Program targets any athlete desiring to complete the Historic McKinney Kiwanis triathlon event. The program accommodates all levels including the beginner signing up for his/her very first race or even the intermediate triathlete who wants to become better and more competitive. Chip Timing by Run-Far
The Sprint Triathlon is a chip-timed event. Each triathlon participant will be required to wear a timing chip in order to be counted in the results. Timing chips are assigned to participants according to bib number. Triathlon participants should pick up your timing chip the morning of the race at the chip timing station an hour before race start after being body-marked. ALL TIMING CHIPS SHOULD BE RETURNED AFTER YOU CROSS THE FINISH LINE. A $30.00 fee will be charged to the participant if the timing chip is not returned. Awards are based on chip times.

Age Group / Weight Class awards will be 3 deep for both Male and Female.
All participants who are registered by April 15th are guaranteed a technical shirt when they pick up their packet.

USAT Membership required
The Historic McKinney Kiwanis Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event. All participants must be a current annual member of USAT or purchase a one day permit for $12 at packet pick up. Do not send USAT permit fee with entry fee.

All established USAT rules will be in effect and will be strictly enforced. You must show your USAT member card and your photo ID at packet pick up – no exceptions. Friends and family will not be allowed to pick up anyone’s packet. If you are an annual USAT member and do not bring your member card to packet pick up, you must buy a $12 one day membership.
